Sussex Natural Childbirth

Sussex Natural Childbirth was started in 2000 with aim of bringing HypnoBirthing to Sussex and London.

Steve and Sonia Griffiths run Sussex Natural Childbirth and Steve was the first Hypnobirthing Practitioner still practicing in the UK. Steve is a hypnotherapist, psychotherapist, NLP practitioner and Systemtatic Kinesiologist. He is also one of only three Faculty trainers certified to teach HypnoBirthing Practitioners in the UK. Sonia is a qualified Biomedical scientist with a master degree and in addition is an aromatherapist, masseuse, reflexologist and she also teaches baby massage. She lectures in HypnoBirthing to universities and hospitals where there is a growing acceptance and appreciation for the value and benefits of HypnoBirthing.

The HypnoBirthing Childbirth method is as much a philosophy of birth as it is a technique for achieving a satisfying, relaxing and stress free method of birthing. HypnoBirthing teaches you, along with your birth companion, the art and joy of experiencing birth in a more comfortable manner. You will learn to call upon your body's own natural anaesthesia and thus lessen or eliminate discomfort and the need for medication. You will be enlightened about how pain became unnecessarily associated with childbirth. You will be fascinated as you view HypnoBirthing films showing labouring mothers awake, alert and in good humour as they experience the kind of gentle birth that you too can achieve.

By teaching you and your birth companion specific skills that build trust and confidence in a mother's innate birthing instincts, you will learn how to deeply relax, master powerful breathing techniques and gain clear and practical understanding that can make your labour shorter, more comfortable.
